Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
How Skinventry's Skin AI and face maps handle health information about you, and your rights over it. This policy is written for Washington's My Health My Data Act and applies to everyone who uses Skinventry, wherever they live.
Effective October 26, 2026
The short version
- Face maps and Skin AI conversations are kept on your phone, outside iCloud backup. Skinventry's servers keep none of them.
- To answer you, your photo or message, with what you've told Skinventry about your skin, shelf and routine, goes once to Anthropic, which processes it for us, deletes it within 30 days and doesn't train its models on it.
- Nothing is sent until you agree in the app, and you can take that back at any time.
- We never sell consumer health data, and we don't share it with anyone else.
What consumer health data we handle
- Face map photos: the photo of your face you take or choose, and the close crops of each zone of it.
- Face map readings: what Skin AI describes as visible in each zone, such as breakouts, dark marks, redness, dryness or fine lines, with counts and marks on the photo.
- Skin AI conversations: what you type or attach, and Skin AI's answers.
- Your skin profile, shelf and routine, as context for an answer: your skin type, what you're working on, the actives you use, the products you own and your routine, and how your weekly check ins went.
Your phone also finds the outline of your face to crop the zones. That happens on your iPhone, with Apple's own face detection, and the outline never leaves your phone.
Where it comes from
From you: the photos you take or choose, what you type, and what you've told Skinventry in the app. And from Skin AI's reading of them.
Why we handle it
Only to give you what you asked for: the reading of your face map, the answer to your question, and the routine and products it relates to. We don't use consumer health data for advertising, and Skinventry has no ads.
Who it's shared with
Anthropic, the company that makes Claude, processes your photo or message for us to produce the reading or the answer, under its commercial terms and data processing agreement. It doesn't use it to train its models and deletes it within 30 days, except where the law or its usage policies require it to keep something longer.
We share consumer health data with no one else, and we never sell it. Skinventry's own servers count how many face maps and messages each phone has used, so no one can run up the cost, and that count is all they see.
How long it's kept
On your phone, until you delete it. At Anthropic, no more than 30 days, as above. Skinventry keeps no copy.
Your rights
- To know and see it. Everything we handle is on your phone, in Skin AI history: every face map and every conversation. Anthropic is the only company it goes to.
- To delete it. Delete a face map or a conversation from its screen, or everything at once in Skin AI history. Deleting the app deletes it too.
- To withdraw consent. In Skin AI history, tap Stop using Skin AI. Nothing more is sent until you agree again, and the rest of Skinventry keeps working.
- To ask us. Email support@skinventry.com with any request about consumer health data. We answer within 45 days. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to that answer, and we'll respond to the appeal within 45 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
Not medical care
Skin AI and face maps describe what's visible in a photo and what dermatology sources say. They don't diagnose, they aren't a medical device, and they don't replace a dermatologist.
Age
Skinventry is intended for adults 21 and over.
