- Photos: Product photos and progress photos are stored locally on your device by default. Photos are only uploaded if you explicitly enable cloud sync.
- Chat Data: Messages you send to the AI Dermatologist feature.

- Usage Data: How you interact with the App, including features used and session duration.

- Personalize your AI Dermatologist and ingredient analysis results
- Track product expirations and send notification reminders

Local-First Architecture
Skinventry is designed with a local-first architecture. This means:
- All your product data, routines, and preferences are stored locally on your device by default.
- Progress photos are stored in your device's local storage and are never uploaded without your explicit consent.
- Cloud sync is entirely optional and only activated when you create an account and enable it.
- The App functions fully offline without an internet connection (except for AI features).
AI Features and Data Processing
When you use AI-powered features (ingredient analysis, AI Dermatologist, product recognition):
- Your queries and photos are sent to our AI processing partners (Anthropic) to generate responses.
- We do not use your personal data to train AI models.
- AI chat history is stored locally on your device.
- Skin scan photos sent to the AI are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate the App (cloud hosting via Supabase, payment processing via RevenueCat/Apple, AI processing via Anthropic).
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
